Visualizing TMJ Osseous Morphology with OP 3D LX
Dr. Katya Archambault accurately diagnoses and confidently plans treatment for a patient’s osteoarthritic temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain using 3D imaging.
A 52-year-old patient presented at Dr. Archambault’s office with sharp pain in the left condyle region, without any prior history of clicking or disk derangements.
You’ll see:
- The large FOV CBCT scan taken that showed no radiographic evidence of osteoarthritic changes on either the right or left TMJ.
- The subsequent small FOV CBCT scan taken with the ORTHOPANTOMAGRAPH™ OP 3D™ LX that revealed a small area of erosion on the anterosuperior and lateral aspects of the condylar head.
- The successful treatment that Dr. Archambault and her team planned to alleviate the patient’s pain.
